We're off to see...

the Wizard, the Wonderful Wizard  of Oz!
I haven't had this much fun dressing up for Halloween in years! I came up with the Wizard of Oz theme because I wanted to use Ethan's Lion Costume from a couple of years ago.
My Mom helped make Ethan's Tin Man Costume. We made it out of  free cardboard from Costco, silver pray paint, duct tape, brads, a funnel {hat} and his tie was made out of aluminum foil.  We found an axe at the dollar store. Everything ended up being cheaper then I thought, and it turned out Great!
We really got lucky because I asked a friend who did the Wizard of Oz theme a couple years ago, if I could borrow her Dorothy costume and she offered the Scare Crow costume too! I used the same pattern as the witches shoe to make Ruby Red Slippers, and Toto I found at Target.
The Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man are ready to go trick or treating!
Everybody loved it... even the kids! "Hey it's the Wizard of Oz!" My favorite comment was from a 10 yr old boy, "Hey your that girl with the basket!" At a couple different houses they told us we had the "best costumes of the night!"

Sienna did great! She didn't like the fact that she couldn't eat the candy that people just gave to her.
We met up with the Bergmann's, Aunt Laura & Grandma. Kimber, Kelsey, Khloe were cute little witches.  Craig was a bee keeper and Kacey was a bumble bee.
We actually made a special stop at my parents old house on Glencrest. The new owners let us come inside and even gave us a tour.  They were super nice, and have done a wonderful job decorating and making it their own.
We stopped by my parents house to show Grandpa every one's costumes.

Moose, Elk & Bison... oh my!
Ethan was such a good sport the entire night! He couldn't bend  at his waist  because of the cardboard. So he had to sit like this, because we would have to take apart his costume to get it off.
We also stopped by Papa & Grammy's house to show them our costumes.
We had so much fun I can't wait til next year... any suggestions?

Hey Michelle!

I love your costumes! And your blog! My friend's family had a Peter Pan theme this year and it would fit your family perfectly. She was Wendy (just a cute nightgown), her husband was Captain Hook, her little boy was Peter Pan and her little girl was Tinkerbell. Really cute!
