In Memory of Fred

Jared's Frog- who I call Drop Dead Fred, finally Died! He got the frog as a Birthday present last year. We both are surprised that he lived as long as he did, after his adventure last year. Jared changed the water in his bowl and left Fred in a cup. We went out for the night, and when we came home Jared announced to me that Fred was no longer in the cup. This is after we walked through our dark house. Gross! I just pictured a squished mess. I went into our bedroom & flipped on the light and found a weird looking fuzz ball in the middle of the floor. I yelled to Jared - I found your Frog! He didn't move, we for sure thought he was dead. As we went in for a closer look, he jumped towards us. Yah, we both screamed! Jared scooped fuzzy Freddy up and put him back in his bowl. Man, he swam like he never swam before. It was fun to watch him swim, he would swim, swim, swim and then float, it really was entertaining. 2 days ago I was surprised not to see him swimming around, but lying belly-up at the bottom of his bowl. I told Jared the sad news and then later that same day Jared got a card from his Dad -on the cover a Cute Frog saying "Hoorah! & Yippee!" Maybe it's a sign that Fred is in a better place & very Happy. The day after he died, Ethan pointed to his bowl and said, "oog". So Sad!
